Welcome to our Year 1 class page. Here you will find lots of information and photos about what we have been getting up to at school and you can share in the wonderful learning that we do. Check back each half term for our curriculum overview so you can see the range of things we will be working on throughout the year.

Curriculum Overviews
Please have a look at some of the things we have been getting up to:
Maths
Children have been using rulers to measure items in centimetres (cm) from around the classroom.
Careers Week
As part of careers week we had a visit from a team of paramedics. They brought their ambulance and the children loved learning all about what they do.
Geography
In Geography, making maps of the school and the classroom in groups using items and drawing.
Learning in the areas
Learning through play in the areas creating towers with bricks outside and making things in the creative area.
Family Learning
The children enjoyed one of our family learning mornings with a focus on phonics and reading skills
Science Week!
We learnt a lot about recycling this week.
Classroom Fun!
On the 24th April 2025 we went to Scampston Hall and had great fun!
In May 2025 we created a new reading area!
