British Values

Promoting Fundamental British Values

In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The Key Values are:

  • democracy
  • rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect
  • tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

School Council Meets Our Local MP

Friday 6th March 2026

Pupils at Amotherby Community Primary School recently had the exciting opportunity to meet and interview our local Member of Parliament, Kevin Hollinrake. Members of the School Council prepared thoughtful questions about democracy, leadership and what it is like to work in Parliament.

The visit provided a fantastic opportunity for pupils to learn about British Values, particularly democracy and the importance of having a voice. By asking questions, sharing ideas and listening carefully to different viewpoints, the children experienced democracy in action.

We are proud of the way our pupils represented the school and demonstrated curiosity, confidence and respect throughout the visit
