Geography at Our School

At our school, geography inspires pupils to be curious about the world around them and to understand their place within it. We follow the Kapow Primary Geography scheme, which provides a rich, progressive curriculum that builds pupils’ geographical knowledge, skills and vocabulary from EYFS through to Year 6.

The scheme has been carefully adapted to reflect our local context, making full use of our local area and surrounding region to bring learning to life. Pupils regularly explore real places, use fieldwork skills, and make meaningful connections between local, national and global geography. This approach helps pupils to develop a strong sense of place, as well as an understanding of both human and physical geography.

Our commitment to high-quality geography teaching has been recognised through the award of the Primary Geography Quality Mark (PGQM), celebrating the strength, coherence and impact of our geography curriculum. Geography at our school equips pupils with the knowledge, skills and curiosity they need to understand an ever-changing world and to become responsible global citizens.
